The Seychelles is known for its lush tropical landscape, coral atolls and being a paradise for honeymooners. There is plenty of things to do there including lazing around on the beach and watching incredible sunsets! Here are a few other things you might enjoy that we got to experience when we visited these beautiful islands.
Take a island hopper to another island
We had the opportunity to take a plane to Praslin, one of the smaller islands close to Mahe. It costs almost the same as the ferry but this 20 minute flight will give you some spectacular views from above.
Just remember to pack light as these flights have weight limits!
Visit Vallei De Mai in Praslin
Said to be the sight of the Garden of Eden this UNESCO World Heritage site hides something pretty amazing. The coco de mer palm grows only here and if you see the shape of the nuts it produces you will quickly see why people might think its the garden of eden. A beautiful place to experience nature
Explore Anse Lazio
It claims to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and it really is beautiful. Gorgeous turquoise water that is just the right temperature, great snorkelling and loads to explore. Apparently there is even a hidden honesty bar somewhere along the stretch of beach where you can help yourself to an ice cold Seybrew beer!
Go on a buggy tour in La Dique
We were lucky enough to visit one of the prettiest islands called La Digue. There are only 5 cars on the island and other means of transport includes bicycles, tricycles and buggys. We got a buggy tour with a really cool guy and absolutely loved it!
Go to a juice bar at Anse Source D’Argent
Anse Source D’Argent it the most photographed beach in the world and it is crazy beautiful! It is situated on the island of La Digue which is a 15 minute ferry ride from Praslin. The snorkeling is insane and the beach isn’t even that packed! Head to the last beach and sip on a fresh fruit juice while listening to some reggae music.
Eat some local food
We had one of our best meals at a local hotspot in Praslin. Bonbon Plume is set right on the gorgeous Anse Lazio beach and you can enjoy some delicious traditional creole food while taking in the view.
Walk around Victoria
Victoria is the Capitol of the Seychelles and one of the smallest in the world. Here you can visit the local market and be enticed by all the fresh ingredients and spices. There is also a beautiful Temple and loads of other little areas to explore.
Zip-line at Constance Ephelia
If you are in the mood for some adventure you better head to Constance Ephelia in Port Launay! We did a really fun jungle zip line with some awesome characters. Nothing like getting your adrenaline pumping and then heading down to the beach for a swim and some coconut juice right?
Have a spa day
There are so many awesome spa’s everywhere in the Seychelles. We loved this one at Constance Ephelia which is actually also the largest one in the Indian ocean! You might already be on holiday but a little bit more relaxation never hurt anyone right?
Visit the mission lodge lookout in Mahe
For some epic views head up a very winding road to the mission lodge in Mahe. From there you will get a great view of the green mountains and turqoise ocean down below. There are also a few hiking trials if you have time!
