Being a healthier version of me is something I strive towards everyday. I take a daily approach but I also do things to keep my mind and body healthy in the long term.
When I wake up in the morning and grab my bowl of Alpen Muesli I know that what I am putting into my body is good for me. The base ingredients are rolled oats, wheat flakes, raisins and nuts. All things that will give you energy for the day ahead. Just like those four ingredients make for a good breakfast things you put into the mix of your life creates what you are.
I thought I would share the things I add into my life to make it healthier with all of you. No one has the same recipe and there are lots of things you can add to your life!
My Four Healthier Me Ingredients:
Weather taking a two day camping road trip or a week long island getaway any kind of travelling is good for my soul! It reinvigorates me and keeps my mind healthy and my body happy! It fuels my creativity and gives me something to look forward to and remember when its done.
I love social media and being online, its part of my job and I do it for fun as well. It is however important for me to switch off and recharge every once in a while. It could be by leaving my phone at home when going out or just putting it on silent and reading a book for a couple of hours. The urge to check for messages and likes will disappear quickly enough leaving you with a sense of peace for a while. It also makes me love it so much more when I get back to it again! Everyone needs a little bit of a time out every now and then.
Hiking is definitely a healthy thing to do but I also enjoy it so much. There is nothing better to me than being out in nature and also sometimes seeing what your body is capable of. The sense of accomplishment you get after scaling a mountain is a great feeling as is the jelly legs when you finally get home after a 7 hour hike.
Being Conscious Of What I Eat:
Reading food labels and knowing what goes into my body has become a very important part of my life. Whenever I can help it I try and switch out for healthier options. Just a small shift in the way you buy food will make a big difference in your overall wellbeing.
