Romantic Getaway To De Hoek Country Hotel

De Hoek Country Hotel is a fairytale place, situated in the lush Magaliesburg. We spent three relaxing nights here and it was the perfect romantic getaway!

De Hoek Country Hotel

Magaliesburg was an unexplored area for Michael and I so when we drove from Johannesburg airport to De Hoek we didnt know what to expect. We were very excited to find this charming hotel nestled in between greenery! From the get go everything felt serene and super relaxed at De Hoek. The gardens are gorgeous and the pool is a tranquil place that we used to catch up on writing and enjoy a drink or two.

The breakfast is also out of this world with plenty of options and some bubbly on the side. Mornings were glorious sitting outside eating in the garden and I could have easily spent the whole day there!

The Rooms

There are plenty of room options at De Hoek. We stayed in a deluxe suite that was perfect for us. It had a bath and huge shower as well as a cute window seat. You also get your own little outside section with a table and chairs where we spent watching the sunset one night. I love that our room had plenty of space so we weren’t tripping over our luggage ( we had just come back from Switzerland )

What to do in Magaliesburg

If you were wandering if there is anything to do in this area if you feel like heading out, there definitely is! You can actually do a hot air balloon ride to watch the sunrise right from the hotel. They set it up on the massive lawn and it looks like an absolute treat! You can also go on hikes, visit the Sterkfontein caves and the Cradle of humankind as well as plenty of other awesome activities.

In the first place, it doesn’t even look like a hotel to me. It’s like a luxurious countryside house with all the amenities and comforts that you would want to see in a hotel. I love places like these

So pretty compositions. Are you a Swiss or South African?
The shot of pouring coffee was wonderful. I am sure a lot of patience would have gone into it.
