A while back I spoke about some of my favorite sunset spots in Cape Town and I forget to mention this secret little spot in Bakoven.
Bakoven is an area in Camps Bay just before you head out on the coastal road towards Llandudno and Hout Bay. It gets its name from the dutch word for Baking Oven as there is a large rock that looks like one in the ocean there.
Having lived in Camps Bay most of my life and frequenting little Beta beach in Bakoven I thought I new about all the cool spots there. I hadn’t explored enough by the looks of things and recently Michael and I found the coolest area.
The rocks by the ocean had been formed in such a way that it makes the craziest looking bright turquoise wave before crashing and it looks especially cool when the ocean is rough.
By chance we decided to go shoot sunset there last night and the conditions where perfect. I also matched the beautiful water swishing in which was quite cool.
I love finding new places to shoot especially in a city so saturated with photographers and instagrammers. Its nice to post something a little bit different but its also just nice to chill somewhere with no people!
