Shandrani Beachcomber resort is located on the South Peninsula of Mauritius. This diverse five star resort has three different beaches for you to explore and plenty to offer.
Three nights at the utterly gorgeous Beachcomber Shandrani Resort just did not seem like enough. Its set on a private peninsula with three beaches to choose from. My favorite beach was the “wild” one with turquoise water and breaking waves. It was such a dramatic change from the lagoon and I loved the whole deserted island vibe it had.
Lucky for us our room was a few steps away from this perfect beach so I definitely spent a lot of time there. Shandrani is a beautiful large resort with loads to explore though. It has two more beaches as well as two pools. I was in love with the pool closest to our room. It had a great vibe with a bar and loungers all around. I cant say I didn’t have a few pina colada’s while chilling there!
What to do
There is so much going on at Shandrani and you will want to try out everything! If just lying in the sun is not your thing then don’t worry! A quick boat ride into the marine park will give you access to some absolutely breathtaking snorkelling. You can also enjoy all their water sports ( Mike did the waterskiing and loved it ) or go for a guided afternoon walk.
They also boast an exotic spa if you are in the mood for pampering! Next time I will have to put that on my list, especially after a day of swimming! The resort has 4 beach front restaurants, my favorite being the Teak Elephant which serves the most amazing Thai food
Why I loved Shandrani
It is really close to the airport ( a five minute drive gets you there! ) so no more wasting precious time on the island by driving!
Its really spacious so you never feel like the beaches are crowded.
It has something for everyone and caters for families but also couples like us.
We saw a turtle swimming in our glass bottom boat while heading out to go snorkel. If that isn’t amazing then I don’t know 😛
The sunsets and sunrises where absolutely magnificent. You can choose any angle because the resort is so big!
