Staying At The Relaxing Calma Ubud in Bali

Calma Ubud lies just outside Ubud in a tranquil area surrounded by lush greens. The beautiful sanctuary makes you feel relaxed and at home as soon as you step inside. We spent two nights soaking up the hospitality and I wish we could have stayed longer!

Calma Ubud

Villas and suites surrounded by tropical gardens and a pool overlooking endless rice paddies. It sounds like a dream right? A place for honeymooners and adventurers alike Calma Ubud really is a special piece of paradise. The muted colours and chic balinese decor flows seamlessly from the rooms out into the shared spaces. I loved relaxing on the deck ( the hanging chair was definitely one of my faves! ) and eating breakfast at the bar counter overlooking the pool. They also do a fab floating breakfast if you are in the mood for a bit of pool time! I loved the fact that Calma was just outside of Ubud centre. It was only a 2.4km scooter ride but it felt like we were all the way out in the relaxed country side!

There are quite a few things included with your stay at Calma Ubud. They serve a delicious daily breakfast that includes a hot dish of your choice, coffee or tea and juice. They also have free internet, afternoon tea and transfers to Ubud if you don’t rent a scooter ( ps. they also rent out scooters at reception! )

The rooms at Calma Ubud

Calma Ubud boasts ten individually styled beautiful rooms and suites. We stayed in a deluxe suite that has it’s own kitchen as well as a outside patio area. I wish we had time to use the kitchen as it was fully equipped but we did relax on our private patio though. The suite was spacious with a large bathroom and shower area, a tv, and a very comfortable bed. We were also so happy we had fast internet in our room so that we could catch up on work in the evenings.

The spa at Calma Ubud

Calma has spa facilities that you can book at reception. Treat yourself with a couples massage or a beautiful flower bath! Flower baths are so popular in Bali and I can definitely see why. Not only are they very photogenic. It’s also great for relaxing your body after a day of exploring in Bali. The one at Calma was outside and it felt like you were alone in a tropical jungle!
