I am always looking for new cool things to experience, especially where I live in Cape Town. So when my friend Janine from Beingbrazen invited me for a girls night on the Jackie O, a luxury motor yacht in the V&A Waterfront I was definitely amped!
The Jackie O Luxury Yacht
The Jackie O was built in the 60’s in France and provided a luxury escape for the rich and famous. It now lies at the V&A Waterfront and boasts a spectacular view of the harbour and Table Mountain. Even though it’s situated in a major tourist attraction it retains all its elegance and charm. I definitely felt like I had been transported to a different era when I walked onboard.
The yacht has four cabins that all have ensuite bathrooms as well as tv’s and aircon. Our cabin had twin beds and more than enough space for the two of us and all our bags of course 😛 The beds were actually so comfortable for anyone that is wondering and I had a great night sleep. The yacht also has a fully stocked bar, a kitchen, a lounge and a stunning deck at the top where we spent most of our time!
Services on the Jackie O Luxury Yacht
The Jackie O does not have a restaurant but a lovely continental breakfast is provided on board. They can also supply cheese platters and bubbly of course if you are in the mood for sundowners on the boat! There are so many restaurants available at the Waterfront though so you wont have to go far to find something great. We opted for some sushi from Sevruga and took it up to the deck to watch the last rays of sun fade from the mountain. We chatted until it was dark and the air got a bit chilly and then headed down to snuggle in the lounge with some tea. It was really such a treat to spend some girl time at such a unique location.
They also have 24 hour security, wifi and airport transfers on request.
Experience the V&A Waterfront while staying onboard the Jackie O
There is so much to do an see at the Waterfront. The Jackie O Yacht is really in the perfect location for you to experience it all. After checking in we headed out for lunch to the nearby Life Grand Cafe. It’s a really cool spot to watch the hustle and bustle of the Waterfront and drink some crazy good cocktails.
We had to finish on a sweet note which always means something yummy from the nearby food market. Unframed ice cream won us over and we strolled along past the big wheel ( a must do when the weather is great! ) soaking up the vibe.
I would definitely recommend checking out the Jackie O Luxury yacht. Especially if you want to try something other than your usual hotel experience. Check out their website for more info on how to book your stay or your next event – http://www.jackieo.capetown
