Stepping into Tintswalo Boulders boutique villa what comes to mind is arriving at a friends luxury beach home. You feel like you have known the staff for years and you feel comfortable and taken care of from the get go.
Located in Simons Town about 45min from Cape Town city this gem is the latest to join the Tintswalo portfolio. With views stretching across the False Bay coastline and the penguin colony in clear sight you can see why Tintswalo Boulders is such a special place. It exudes romance and charm while stying utterly luxurious and once you get there you will find it very difficult to leave.
The Tintswalo Boulders villa is intimate with only six luxury suites available to book. The Villa’s location is prime with unobstructed views of the penguins at Foxy and Boulders beach and surrounded by beautiful fynbos.
It is decorated in neutral tones with pops of deep blue and emerald green that makes you feel instantly relaxed. Comfortable couches, fireplaces and an inviting open kitchen lures you in and opens up onto the deck where you can enjoy breakfast or a drink. It also has an outdoor lapa area with a fireplace which seems like the ideal place to cuddle up in Winter time.
Something really special about the villa is that you have access to the wooden boardwalk that takes you to either foxy or boulders beach entrances. A few quick steps and you are right by the penguins!
Boulders beach is a great place for a swim as the water is slightly warmer on the eastern side of the Cape Town peninsula. If you however don’t feel like heading to the beach the villa also has a magnificent pool deck where you can soak up the sun.
Tintswalo Boulders also has free wifi so you can upload all those stunning holiday snaps in real time!
The Rooms at Tintswalo Boulders
In true Tintswalo style the rooms are all beautifully decorated with the guests comfort being number one. Beds that dreams are made of, fireplaces and ultra soft dressing gowns… Just the thought makes me want to be there right now!
One of the premier suites was where we settled in for the night and it really is something special. The balcony area is huge and the ideal place to share a bottle of wine with your loved one. This suite is perfect for honeymooners and the it has the added bonus of having it’s own entrance to the pool.
You will definitely be torn between watching the penguins from your balcony or the pool but I guess you can have worse problems right? 😛
Tintswalo Boulders operates on a bed and breakfast basis and isn’t open to the general public which makes it even more exclusive. We enjoyed a very early sunrise breakfast while listening to the penguins sing their morning song.
Lovely fruit and granola, cheese platters, freshly squeezed orange juice and a hot breakfast filled us with fuel to visit Boulders beach for the day.
They also offer light afternoon snacks which we enjoyed while sipping a cold drink at the pool.
Why I loved Tintswalo Boulders
There are so many reasons I love the Tintswalo brand and like their other properties Tintswalo Boulders has that same magic that makes you fall in love. The staff are attentive and friendly without being intrusive. It really is like being part of their family and they really go out of their way to make you feel as at home as possible even if you are just there for the night.
Something that I also immediately noticed is how sustainable they are. The water comes in reusable glass bottles and the milk for your coffee is refillable, no plastic or single use in sight. Home made biscuits come in a jar and even their Illy coffee pods are refillable! A little bit of effort towards sustainability really goes a long way.
The whole experience was just filled with romance ( penguins mate for life so it definitely makes sense to come to Tintswalo Boulders on honeymoon! ) and you walk away feeling happier and more relaxed!
